This Wednesday you will have a district-wide instructional data team. Supervisors from the Office of Teaching and Learning should be communicating with you about where you'll be meeting. If you have any questions, please let me, Mike, or Debbie know.

Great news! If you haven't heard, our BE Relay for Life team, running for Connor, has raised over $2000 already! See Mary Hyde or search your email inbox for more info about how to donate.
Field Trips (again): The cafeteria staff has asked me to remind everyone who will be taking a field trip to please also let the cafeteria know. When large groups of students go on field trips, it impacts the lunches ordered. Letting them know in advance will help them anticipate the amount of food to purchase and prepare.
Teacher of the Year: It is about that time again for the district to select a Teacher of the Year. As part of the selection committee, I found out last year that about 25% of the teachers nominated actually complete the application! If you have been nominated, please take the time to complete the application--it is a great honor to be named Bristol Teacher of the Year. Please let me know if you have any questions about the application; I'll be glad to help.
IDT focus group: Thank you for your feedback about instructional data teams two weeks ago. We had the chance to review your comments and your ratings. The mean for the ratings given to planning and developing assessments and units was a 4.8/5 and the mean for the ratings given to sharing instructional strategies was a 3.8/5. We did have a few questions about some of the comments as we continue to think about how we can support the school in making that time most effective. We'd love to continue the conversation. If you're interested in sharing your thoughts or ideas, answer some questions about instructional data teams, please email me this week. I'd like to set up a conversation in early April so we can begin to plan together how we can best use that time next year.
Feedback from Substitutes: Substitutes complete a daily evaluation for us when covering for teachers in our building. Our substitutes love having seating charts by photos of the students. Some teachers have had those at the ready for our subs, and it is so greatly appreciated by them, that I wanted to pass on that information. If you don't have assigned seating, leaving a roster by photo is extremely helpful.
