News, Notes, and Reminders:

Spamalot preview!  Please plan on bringing your students to see a preview of Spamalot on April 29th, during second block.  We will hold two performances, one for each floor, for 30 minutes each.  Students who are involved in the production will be dismissed down to the auditorium during their first block class.  Mrs. Adams will be sending out the list of who is involved.

Hartford Yardgoats!  If you've been looking for a chance to recognize students who have improved since the beginning of the year or even from last year, you can nominate these students as Most Improved and they'll receive a complimentary ticket to a selected YardGoats game, and be honored on the field in a special ceremony prior to that game.  Please send me the name of the student by Friday, April 22nd.

Desks.  A teacher brought to our attention a disturbing symbol carved into one of her desks.  In the next few days, you'll want to look over your desks and let your custodian know if you find anything that needs to be removed.

Future event for seniors--Save the date:  Yearbook is hosting a senior lunch/barbecue on Wednesday, May 25th that will take the entire third block.  They'll have a barbecue in the courtyard, time to sign yearbooks, and then have a video review of their time in high school.  Yearbook will need faculty volunteers to help serve and perhaps grill during first lunch.  Yearbook will be providing lunch to all adults in the building in addition to our seniors--this will be a great time to catch up with our seniors before they leave us!  Please email Marc Zimmerman if you're interested in helping during first lunch.

Social Media Reminder.  We'll be reviewing this policy at our faculty meeting as well.  From BOE policy 4118.51 on Social Media:  #2-"it is not appropriate for a teacher or administrator to "friend" a student or his/her parent or guardian or otherwise establish special relationships with selected students through personal social media, and it is not appropriate for an employee to give students or parents access to personal postings unrelated to the school."

Congratulations to Carolyn Kielma!  She received funding through Donors Choose for projects for AVID and her  biology and biotechnical classes. If you're interested in learning more about donors choose, I'm sure she will be happy to explain how it works.  This could be a great way to expand the resources available to you and your students.    Greg and Savva-check it out!  It might help you get your items on your wish list!
