BE Events for Students and Staff

Busy week! Don't forget students will be taking the CAPT pilot in their junior level science classes on Monday and Tuesday.  Many teachers are going to require substitute coverage on May 25 due to the field trip to the Memorial Boulevard.   Please do all that you can to avoid having to be out on that day.

An informational session will be held on May 25th in the evening at the Board of Education Auditorium for parents of special education students discussing the community-based supports available to students after high school.

 News, Notes, Reminders

Final exams:  Exams will begin June 15.  Students who know they will be absent for exams can make arrangements with you to take exams during the exam window.  However, if the exam cannot be taken within the exam window, arrangements must be made for the student to take the exam upon their return.  Please be sure that you leave an exam with our administrative office clearly labeled with the student's name.  You'll also need to communicate with the student's guidance counselor regarding the exam missed. If there are unique situations, please communicate with the student's administrator.

For students who are looking to take exams at an alternative time within the same four day window: it would be best to discourage this practice because it requires more communication regarding the whereabouts of students on each of these days.  You'll need to have written parent permission for students under the age of 18.  In the event of an emergency, you'll need to let an administrator know that you have additional students with you.

Follow up on blocking websites:  I've contacted Rob Puzio about blocking certain sites from our wi-fi, such as Instagram and Snapchat.  It looks like we may be able to do so from all Chromebooks/laptops.  We're exploring an option for phones as well. (5/20--response to follow up not received yet).
