Notices and Reminders

Semester  reminder:  Please remind those students who might be on the cusp of failing for the year that there is still hope to recover given the summer school policy. As a reminder, students who pass for the semester only need to attend summer school for the semester they had failed.  The purpose of this policy was to encourage students to keep working until the end of the school year.  Now would be a great time to have some individualized conversations with students.

Fobs and Alarms:  We've been experiencing some false alarms on the weekends. Please know that the building is armed throughout the weekend when there are no events happening in the building.  Teachers' fobs are coded for specific hours; however, if for some reason, you're able to enter the building with your fob, know that you will set off the alarm.   Also, if you are a teacher/coach who has a code to enter the building, we're asking that you park in front of the main office entrance and enter the main office doors.  By doing so, it will help us to ensure that no one alarms the building while there are still individuals inside.  If you aren't sure if there is someone in the building, before you alarm the building, you should conduct an all-call page. There is a ninety dollar charge for each false alarm.  We appreciate your cooperation in helping us to avoid these charges.

Midyear Conferences:  Midyear conferences will begin in February.  Remember, these conferences are an opportunity to revisit your student learning objectives and professional practice objectives you've set earlier this year.  Using the interim information you've collected thus far, we'll review whether or not your goals are still attainable yet rigorous.  Prior to these meetings, you'll want to:
  1. Review any formative or summative assessment data you have related to your SLO/PPO.
  2. Review your goals as they are entered into the goal-setting sheet this fall.
  3. You'll want to note any possible adjustments you think you will need to make to your goals.  You will need to bring your data to the meeting.
  4. We are waiting on documentation from OTL for the midyear conferences.  We will send them to you when we receive them.
Opportunities:  Scheduling and planning for our Testing Day and SAT rally are underway.  Please let Debbie or Mike know if you're interested in helping to design these days.

Heads up!  We're approaching the end of the month so you might predict a safety drill this week.  You'll want to review all emergency procedures.
