First Five Minutes: Week of January 19

Monday	“Reconciliation week”.  It is never too late to say sorry to someone that you have been meaning to.  Apologies are not always easy to give; sometimes doing the right thing is not easy.  Make the effort and say you’re sorry.

Absent students from Midterm Exams

Students who are AUX, ISS, OSS and AX should be allowed to make up their midterm exam.  Midterm exams may be made up with the teacher or arrangements could be made with administration for a student to make up the midterm after school on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.  Remember, unexcused does not mean that the reason for their absence is not an approved reason, it solely means that the parent has not yet submitted a written note to excuse that absence.  

Teachers should review students who have unverified absences with the students' administrator(s) to determine whether or not the student should be allowed to make up the assessment. 

School Delays

In the event of a two-hour delay during the exam schedule, we will not administer exams on that day. That exam day will move to the end of the cycle of exams.  For example, if there is a delay on Friday, 1/20, the exams scheduled to be taken that day will then be taken on Wednesday, January 25th (resulting in two B days in a row).  On the delayed day, we will follow the two-hour delay schedule.  If the delayed day is a reverse-schedule day, the blocks will still meet in reverse.

Recommendations:  Please remember there are no more formal "recommendation days" so you'll need to plan this into your class meetings.   All recommendations must be completed by February 17th.    Please see resources in "Preparing for the Second Semester" if you do not recall how to enter recommendations.  Teachers new to BEHS can contact Mrs. Lucia Infante ext. 118 for directions.
