Please make every student take out their own phone Monday morning and sign up for the guidance dept's Remind texts. The guidance department has started using Remind to send messages to students about upcoming deadlines and great opportunities. On the last snow day, I received a reminder to go into Naviance from home to check out scholarship opportunities. They are doing a great job with this but they need more students to sign up. Give students this info:To receive messages via text, text @beguidance to 81010.

Broken windows? It’s starting to feel a bit drafty. . .January-March have been the toughest months to stay on track. The days are shorter so we’re coming into school when it is dark and leaving when it is dark, exhausted from either shoveling all the snow or keeping our own children from pulling each others and our own hair out. We have to try to remember which letter day it is and when the last time was you saw students (a week ago, what???). I get it. We truly need your help in reinforcing all of the behaviors that as a school we decided are going to help us keep this a positive learning environment. Trust that we will “have your back” and if you feel that that isn’t happening, I want to know. Remember, it is our ability to work as a team that accomplished the huge successes we had at curbing these behaviors. We need you to spreading the message.

Most of our students will respond just by you asking the question. Showing students we can ignore the behaviors shows that we can ignore them as people. Not good.
