Happy Memorial Day!  Welcome Summer!

Professional time 

There will be no meetings after school this Wednesday.  Several teachers and counselors will be visiting Chippens Hill Middle School to learn about some of our incoming students. 

Testing

AP testing is done!  SBA is finishing up as we try to ensure we test every junior.  As testing comes to a close, I'd like to thank Ms. Tager for all of her efforts in managing all of the testing this month.  Never before have we had so much testing required to be done within the same month, proving to be extremely challenging for all. Without Ms. Tager's organization and coordination, I'm not sure we would've gotten through this!

Reminder:  Faculty self-assessments in Bloomboard are due by the end of the day on Tuesday, May 26th.  Please complete your self-assessment or we may not be able to complete your evaluation this school year.

Your help:  In this month of May, our discipline numbers are high.  We've had multiple arrests and an emergency hospitalization.  This month can be a stressful month for all, including students.  Please be on the look out for students who might need some extra attention and seek resources for them through administration, school psychologist, or guidance.  Please continue to be a presence in the hallways and around the building.  It is extremely important that you show up for your duty assignments at the beginning and end of school. Thank you for your help.

It was at this time last year when we were struck by the need to evacuate the grounds in an emergency.  I am suggesting that for these last few weeks, we tighten our procedures and you do ask students to sign out of your room on a class list in addition to carrying their planner as a pass.  That way, if there was an issue within the building, we'll be able to identify where students went at a specific time.  Students will need to write what time they're leaving and where they are going on your list.  We are planning on a walk through of an evacuation for teachers only at the end of the day in the upcoming weeks.
