Professional Time

This Wednesday will be instructional data team time. You will have time to complete your instructional data team summary.  You will also have some time to complete your self-assessment.  Please keep in mind these are due to your administrator by May 26th.    You will want to print out a hard copy once complete to give to your administrator.  Please check your emails for the screencast if you have questions about what you need to complete.

Some grade 9 teachers, counselors and special education teachers will be going to the middle school for transition meetings.  Please let your department chair and data team know if you will not be present.

Advisory

This Wednesday we will have advisory.  Mr. Higgins will be sending out details regarding the suggested activity.

Your help:  In this month of May, our discipline numbers are high.  We've had multiple arrests and an emergency hospitalization.  This month can be a stressful month for all, including students.  Please be on the look out for students who might need some extra attention and seek resources for them through administration, school psychologist, or guidance.  Please continue to be a presence in the hallways and around the building.  It is extremely important that you show up for your duty assignments at the beginning and end of school. Thank you for your help.

It was at this time last year when we were struck by the need to evacuate the grounds in an emergency.  I am suggesting that for these last few weeks, we tighten our procedures and you do ask students to sign out of your room on a class list in addition to carrying their planner as a pass.  That way, if there was an issue within the building, we'll be able to identify where students went at a specific time.  Students will need to write what time they're leaving and where they are going on your list.  We are planning on a walk through of an evacuation for teachers only at the end of the day in the upcoming weeks.
