Professional Time

News, Notes, and Reminders:

Quarter Four begins this week:  Hard to believe we're in the home stretch!  Our end date for Q3 is Monday, 4/10/16.

P4 and Q4 will start on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. 

Assembly Thursday:  Cyberbullying Film shown Thursday, second block

Our FOR (Friends of Rachel Club) wanted to provide students with an opportunity to think about and reflect on students' behaviors on-line and the impact that negative, unkind behaviors on-line can have on each other.  They would the opportunity for students to watch Cyberbullying.  

As a part of this work, our administrative team wanted our students to take an active part in planning and sharing with our incoming ninth grade students and parents strategies for dealing with all that comes with having a presence on social media.  To begin this work, students in the FOR Club are working on a survey to be taken anonymously by our students PRIOR TO COMING to the assembly so that we can have real statistics to share with our families.   That survey will be available Tuesday morning. 

The film is 87 minutes long so it will take all of second block to view.  We won't be able to fit ALL classes into the auditorium so we'll have to offer it on Thursday to those who sign up to bring their classes.  Please sign up your class here.  We can accommodate 10 classes of students.  We may offer it again in the future (perhaps after AP testing in May) during a B3/4 class.  If you sign up your class to attend, then you're also agreeing to have your class take the survey on Tuesday.

A2 AND A3 position evaluations:  Please submit your portions of your evaluations for A2 and A3 positions by this Friday if you have not already done so.

Upcoming facility work:  We may be having some work done to replace many exterior doors and door frames and outdoor lighting and light poles in the next couple of months.  Pete M. and I will be working together to minimize the impact on our learning environment during the school day.

There was a Department Chair meeting scheduled for Monday, 4/10 but with the Ghost Day, it is now a B day.  I'll email with a rescheduled date.
