News, Notes, and Reminders:

Evaluation Documents for Goal-setting:  Without Bloomboard, the district has moved to distributing the evaluation forms on Google.  I've revised the two forms slightly to help teachers know how to manage that within Google.  If you're uncomfortable using Google, you can download the forms, complete them, and submit them as Word attachments to an email.  The forms are located in our BEHS--Shared folder under Evaluation Information and Forms.

         PPO Setting document

You can begin to fill these forms out based on your department discussions.  You'll need to share or email both of these with your supervising administrator prior to your conference.

PearDeck:  We've updated our subscription to PearDeck.  Information about how to log-on will be sent in an email this weekend.  PearDeck users, please share how you've found PearDeck to be useful in this document so other teachers know why they should try it out!

MINI-GRANTS!  Wall pockets outside of classroom doors, PearDeck, Apps and Language websites used in our World Language department, Yoga mats, and more  . . . How did we get all of these items?  Through MINI-GRANTS!  Last year, Bristol Eastern High School teachers were granted the MOST amount of grant funds through this program.  You are some of the most creative individuals I know.  I know you have great ideas and are seeking ways to provide these opportunities for students.  The determination of these grants is LOCAL, so there is a better chance for funding here than going to other websites or venues.  Please take the time to write a mini-grant to fund that great idea!

Below is a link to a tutorial that could help to you apply if you would like to use it.  Please let Kelly Thibodeau know if you have any questions.

Political Issues:  As we get closer to elections, I thought it was important to remind everyone about our  Board of Education policy.

Policy 6114:  Reacting to Political Action/Issues
1.  Provide parental choice for their child to opt out of participation of an event related to a politically-charged issue, if time and logistics permit, and to proceed with the event, or
2.  Choose to pass up on the event and the related discussion altogether.

Fobs:  We will be providing fobs to every teacher.  More information to come.  Fobs are in the process of being ordered.

Staff member needed!  Jake's Wayback Burgers approached BE with an opportunity for fundraising for the school.  They're looking to have a BE faculty contestant to take on the Triple-Triple Challenge.  The challenge wold be to see who can eat nine patties in the fastest time.  Four high schools were invited to take on this challenge.   Who will be our BE champion????  Email me if you're interested.
