Professional Time

Wednesday is PSAT day and Future Planning Day for Seniors! Please help us promote a college-going mindset by wearing your favorite college t-shirts or sweatshirts!Thursday, wear your pink to show our collective support for those who are enduring or have endured living with Breast Cancer, especially our colleague Mrs. Gammons.
Notes:
- Guidance/Admin meeting this Tuesday will focus on 504 students.

Both our Boys' and Girls' Soccer teams won against "the other school" on Saturday! Way to go BE!
News and Announcements
Students of the Month for September:Grade 9/ Ashley Aponte: Ashley makes it a point to get to know each and every student in her class and goes above and beyond to make them feel comfortable in whatever situation they are in. The entire team of teachers recommends Ashley for SOM. I have never had a student more deserving. Ashley has to overcome learning obstacles to be successful and she takes on this challenge with so much drive and motivation. She is truly an active participant in her own learning and demonstrates success because of this.
Grade 10/Adam Case: His teacher writes: "Adam is always very polite and I have witnessed him standing up for other people's point of views when they aren't the same as the majority. Adam is great about making sure that other students have what they need it class. He is always prepared for class and during our first quiz he was helping other students study for the test.I was helping a student with computer issues and Adam saw two other students struggling with Google Drive and Docs. He stepped right up to help the other students get where they needed to be and start the assignment. I had Adam in class last year and he continues to go above and beyond on a regular basis."
Grade 11/Roland Horvath: His teacher writes: "Roland is constantly polite, raises his hand to participate, acts with dignity towards other students, and positively encourages other students' responses even if they have the wrong answer. Roland is extremly focused in class and is determined to do well. Roland self advocates and reflects upon his work and will not hesitate to help other students who don't understand something during group work. Roland has a very positive outlook in all aspects of the classroom and has a bright and sunny personality. He is not afraid to ask questions and will participate by connecting the learning to what he has learned in documentaries which also helps other students."
Grade 12/ Brenda Krosnicki: Her teacher writes: "Brenda is a kind and caring individual who looks out for everyone. She is an excellent friend to others and is an exceptional daughter and sister. She, in many ways is the glue that holds them altogether. I have so much respect for her for how hard she works at being there for everyone. She is a beautiful young lady. Brenda works very hard at everything she does. Right now she is struggling with dropping Pre Cal because she is completely lost in the class but she wants to be sure to communicate with her teacher about this because she knows it is the right thing to do. It is my experience of Brenda that this is how she always looks at life by always trying to do the right thing which is not only responsible but incredibly mature. If anyone needs to know how exceptional she is right now it is Brenda. Self doubt clouds her thinking sometimes. She can be fragile. I want her to start the year with the knowledge that she is viewed as a leader, a friend and a conscientious student who has garnered the respect of staff and students alike."
