Bristol Eastern Events to Show Your Student support:

Blue/Grey contest!   For Thursday's away game of girls' basketball at Bristol Central, Mike, Debbie, and I are challenging staff and students to show their school spirit by wearing blue and grey.  One male student, one female student, and one staff member wearing the most creative blue and grey ensemble/regalia will be given a certificate that night at the game, entitling them to a free lunch from any restaurant on Route 6 (from Supernatural to Taco Bell) on Friday. Rules:  face paint--yes, body paint--NO!, creative shirt--yes, shirtless--NO!  Can't wait to see the sea of blue and grey!

Battle of the Fans contest!  Friday will be the start of our attempt to win Battle of the Fans sponsored by CAS-CIAC. For more information (and some fan ideas), click here:  http://cas.casciac.org/?p=5000

Art/Science Prize:  We have ten students exhibiting their work at the Imagination Museum in Bristol from 5-7pm on Wednesday evening. Click on the Art/Science prize post within the blog to find out who the students are.

Announcements:

Bathrooms upstairs are open!  Please remind students on the second floor to use the upstairs bathrooms.

Reminder (re"post" from Guidance email):  As you are aware, course selection will be starting in a few short weeks.  Those who are teaching semester 1 courses have the opportunity to make course recommendations for their current students now.  Course recommendations are entered in your powerschool gradebook through the recommendations tab.   Each recommendation must be entered individually for each student.  Please remember, this is a great way to promote course enrollment for students.  Students can see your recommendation in BOLD when they are logging in to make their course selections.

Reminders:

Student of the Month:    Do not miss this opportunity to recognize those students who have demonstrated our core expectations around responsibility and respect.  Please be sure to enter your nominations here for student of the month:  https://docs.google.com/a/bristolk12.org/forms/d/1-i7HpozrADx3bkvDKSwqJFWqgK3IbpFKIxU7sxcYM_0/viewform

Newsletter:  We're not having a monthly newsletter this year, but rather a seasonal one.  If you have an item for the winter (Nov-February) newsletter, please email me by January 15.  I didn't receive much so the deadline is extended to January 23rd.
